2004 - age 53 Attends annual Falun Gong gathering in United States.On March 14,has difficulty breathing and functioning, Tests reveal cancer has spread to lungs. Lapses into a coma the following day. Passes away in hospital outside paris in the early morning of March 16,age 53.
​2003 - age 52 Artistic output diminished by constant travel back and forth between Paris and Taipei to care for elderly mother. Solo exhibition in November at Ke-Yuan Gallery, Crisp Joy, collects works dating from 1990 to 2002. Desire to re-srttle in Taiwan grows increasingly strong; discusses sale of Paris apartment with friends.
​2002 - age 51 Exhibits ink paintings at Ke-Yuan Gallery. Style moves from clearly demarcated flowing drops of thick ink towards layered ink effects with voluminous brushstrokes. 
​2001 - sge 50  Afflicted with acute uveitis, begins devoted practice of Falun Gong. Solo exhibition,(Time),at Ke-Yuan Gallery in Chingshui Village, Taichung.
​2000 - age 49 Father Chen Hsia-yu passes away. Solo exhibition at Hanart Gallery, Taipei. Tours Nazi concentration camps at Dachau Auschwitz in April and July, respectively. Solo exhibition at the Ke-Yuan Gallery in Chingshui, Taichung.
​1999 - age 48 Invited to exhibit in the Contemporary Chinese Art Exhibition at the Gierig Gallery in Frankfurt, Germany.
​1998 - age 47 Resident artist at Gedok Workshop in Leck, Germany. Inspired by Polish composer Goreckis Third symphony, creates ink painting series, Germany Impression-After Listening to Geckis Symphony No.3
​1997 - age 46 Solo exhibition at Taipei Fine Arts Museum, From Original Forms to Song of the Earth.
​1996 - age 45 Divorces Cheng Yen-ping During another visit to Egypt, photographs animal corpses being turned back into entitled Approaching Reality, is an extension of the ideas encompassed in Original Forms series.
​1995 - age 44 On sixth visit to Egypt, the natural appearance and color, plain texture, and potency of local leathers inspire her to employ leather in her art. Retaining the shape, color and texture of the animals entire hide, and using three-dimensional cloths formed with paste, develops series of works entitled song of the Earth and Oringinal Forms, While residing in the U.S., encounters of the 731 st Regiment of the Japanese Imperial Armys experiments on Live bodies and the atrocities of the Rape of Nanking; also collects historical information on the atrocities of the Nazis and the white European settlers slaughter of native Americans. Creates War and Peace series of works from September through November.
​1994 - age 43 Exhibits New Environment Art Space in Tainan. Experiments with placing cloth inside paint or latex to achieve a protruding hardness after drying, as if gaining new life. Develops approach on her attire, becoming a linear and stylistic element in multi-media works. Receives Pacific Foundation recommendation to work as artist-in-residence at the (Headlands Art Center) in San Francisco for six months.
​1993 - age 42 Solo exhibitions at Golden Brick Gallery in Taichung and LEau Metallique Gallery in Paris. Parents visit Partis for second time and family toues Egypt together.

​1992 - age 41While working out rented Pairis apartment, is issued a 10-year artists visa for France. Purchases property on outskirts of paris and begins living, working, and exhibiting back and forth between Paris and Taiwan. Develops breakthrough kind of work using extensive cloth collage techniquse and no frame inresponse to need to exhibit at solo and group exhibitions around the world.
​1991 - age 40 Exhibits ink paintings at the Masherabia Gallery in Cairo, Egypt. Investigates ancient egyptian carving and painting selected by the ministry of Educartion to participate in International City of Arts in Paris for a year Parents visit Paris for the first time.
​1990 - age 39 Participates in international artist exchange program at the Basel Artist Workshop in Basel, Switzerland. Meets and falls in love with Egyptian artist Assem Sharaf. a fellow participant in the program. Solo exhibition at the Taiwan Provincial Art Museum.
​1989 - age 38 First Lee Chun-shan F OUNDATION Creative Award.
​1987 - age 36 Resumes working in Taiwan; holds solo exhibitions at Taipeis Lungmen Gallery and Taichungs Taiwan Museum of Art.
​1985 - age 34 Visits France for the first time. In addition to French language studies, spends most of her time at art exhibitions, the cinema, and historic sites. Strongly impressed with European Neo-Expressionism, the African Museun, the extensive collection of Han-period Chinese figurines at the Musee Cernuschi and the Egyptian and Assyrian artifacts housed in the Louvre Museums collection.
​1984 - age 33 Wins Taipei Fine Arts Museum Award of Contemporary Art Trends in the Republic of China and third place in the museums first Abstract Painting Competition Holds first solo exhibition at Taipeis Gallery One. Also exhibits at Taipei Spring  Gallerys Other Dimensions show, Taiwans first installation art exhibition, which alsp features works by Lin Shou-yu, Chuang Pu, Jun T. Lai, Cheng Yen-ping, Hu Kun-jung, and Chang Yung-tsun.
​1983 - age 32 Experiments with pouring plaster on canvas to achieve a flowing effect.
​1982 - age 31 Begins painting on large canvases in top floor home studio, With acrylic as base, applies mixed media including wood strips, netting, and cloth. Makes extensive use of collage techniques.

​1975 - age 24Forms Summer Painting Group with young artists in central Taiwan, including Chen Shih-hsing group exhibition at Taipei Provincial Museum.
​1973 - age 22 Meets modern art critic Mr.Ku Hsiesn-liang. Returns to Taichung to teach at Hsiyuan Junior High School; tries hand at modern Painting.
​1972 - age 21 Graduates from National Taiwan University of Arts; commences teaching position at Sanchih Junior High School in Taipei County.
​1970 - age 19 Falls in love with Cheng Yen-ping.
​1969 - age 18 Enters National Taiwan University of Arts Western Painting section ;joins study group formed by Chinese Painting section classmate, Cheng Yen-ping, recently returned from the U.S. and teaching at Tunghai University.
​1966 - age 15 Enters high school section at Taichung High School.
​1963 - age 12 Enters junior high school section of the Taichung Third High School.
​1957 - age 06 Enters Taichung Normal Colleges affiliated primary school.
