Ishikawa was famous for his watercolors. He joind Japanese Art Associations and qualified to Participate in Bunten (an official art exhibition) several times. He traveled all over the world, draw-ing on his new environment for his subject matter. During the 18 years that he resided in Taiwan he painted many skilled, percep –tive works of Taiwanese landscape. He is quite adept at applying colors in the traditional English watercolor style of bright chromes and unique vitality. He accents his composition with lively figures and activities that express realistic scene in Taiwan’s country side. Not only an outstanding painter, Ishikawa is also a successful art educator. His influence is great because of his ability as a skill-ful instructor, his artistic accomplishments, and unique mode of thought, which will definitely effect painters for generation to come.
